The latest evolution of the world’s most implanted trifocal IOL : 94% light utilization, 50% less light scatter, and 16% improved contrast for crisper vision at all distances.
About This Lens
The Clareon PanOptix Pro by Alcon, introduced to US practices in May 2025, uses proprietary ENLIGHTEN NXT Optical Technology to recover 50% of light previously lost to scatter, delivering 94% light utilization versus 88% for standard PanOptix and a 16% improvement in optical image contrast. The defocus curve shown is an estimated representation based on Alcon’s published ENLIGHTEN NXT optical data.
Clinical Performance
Defocus Curve : Clareon PanOptix Pro
The defocus curve below is based on published binocular clinical trial data, showing visual acuity (logMAR) across a range of distances. Lower values indicate sharper vision. The gray dashed line shows a standard monofocal lens for comparison. Stars reflect clinical performance at distance, intermediate, and near based on the published data.
Source: Estimated from Alcon ENLIGHTEN NXT published optical performance data (94% light utilization, 16% improved contrast vs PanOptix); US launch May 2025. Lower logMAR = better vision. 0.0 = 20/20. Green shaded area = functional vision (20/32 or better). Gray dashed = monofocal reference.
